In the heart of the Eifel

Insul belongs to the community of Adenau. This small village on the Ahr River invites numerous nature lovers, hikers and cyclists every year to linger, relax and take part in various holiday activities in the Ahr Valley.

The direct connection to the Ahr valley cycle path ("Ahrsteig") and any hiking trails allow you to explore the entire Ahr valley with its countless vineyards, forests and beautiful villages in the direct vicinity of the Ahr during your stay.

Leisure activities for young and old are offered by the lawn, the tennis court and a playground. Insul also has two good restaurants. Shopping facilities for daily needs, as well as a baker and a doctor can be found in the neighbouring village of Schuld (approx. 3 km), in Ahrbrück-Pützfeld (approx. 10 km) and in Adenau. Adenau offers the largest selection of supermarkets, shops, banks, doctors and pharmacies. There is also a wide choice of restaurants and pubs. Both Adenau and Ahrbrück can be reached by bus from Insul at certain times. After about 1.7 km you can walk to the nearest bus stop in Dümpelfeld. From here there is a bus every hour during the week to Adenau as well as to Ahrbrück. Also on weekends you have the possibility to take the bus several times a day. The nearest train station is in Ahrbrück. It goes over the small wine villages along the Ahr, over the city Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, up to Bonn.

The town of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler is definitely worth a visit for all lovers of the old town and wine!
